Welcome to the Camberwell Central Bowls Club (CCBC)
 Sam McClelland Congratulations to our Club Bowler Samantha McClelland. She led her relatively inexerienced school side (Balwyn HS) all the way into the Grand Final of the School Sport Victoria (SSV) Lawn BowlsCompetition. Unfortunately, the ultimate prize eluded them when they lost to Bacchus Marsh SC in the Grand Final. The good news is that Samantha, in her final school year, leaves behind a vastly more experienced side for the coming years. The other three members of the side are all year 9 students.
As President of our Club, I had the pleasure today to watch our 2011- 12 Singles Final. This was fought out by a former Champion in Rod Strong and Col Waddell. Certainly hot conditions over a lengthy match required some significant stamina. Both were up to it ! Probably one of the interesting aspects of the struggle, was the number of times both players took time out to inspect the head. An indication of their intensive concentration perhaps ! In the end, Col. got over the line and is our new Singles Champion. Hearty congratulations, Col. Ken Winter. [ Dec 23 2011.]  Newsflash!As club champion, Colin was entered into a draw to play against the champions of other clubs. He progressed to the semi finals of the Yarra region before being eliminated. This is the best result (we believe) for this Camberwell Central Bowls Club since incorporation. Colin had a bye in the first round, then defeated the "Yarra Valley Country Club" champion 25-22 in the second round. He won his game against the Alphington champion 25-24 in the third round. Colin was now in the semi finals where he lost narrowly 23-25 against the Fairfield champion. Congratulations Colin
Pennant Practice: Thursdays. Coaches will be there & drills will be set up!Camberwell Central Bowlers are lucky enough to enjoy two fantastic greens which are used year round for both social and competition bowls. We welcome new members and invite you to come along to the Club and have a roll; free coaching and bowls on loan for your use. Thursday nights are a great opportunity to meet the members, enjoy a BBQ, have a drink and try your hand at the great game of lawn bowls!
